Columbia-Yale Book Club Gathering - Oct 23

The world and HK is undergoing rapid change and the Book Club is an opportunity to engage with others to discuss the latest in new ideas and thoughts. The book we will be reading in October is titled Accidental Superpower - The Next Generation of American Preeminence and the Coming Global Disorder by Peter Zeihan. In The Accidental Superpower, international strategist Peter Zeihan examines how geography, combined with demography and energy independence, will pave the way for one of the great turning points in history, and one in which America reasserts its global dominance.

Save the Date: Speaker Lunch: Finding Your Passion – How Lily Fan went from a corporate lawyer to Tony Award-winning producer on Broadway

Join us at this Speaker Lunch where Lily Fan, Tony Award-winning, Broadway musical producer, will share her exciting journey of career transformation, from a corporate lawyer at Shearman & Sterling and Morrison & Foerster, to becoming one of Broadway’s most successful producers, among the many other hats she wears. This event is co-hosted with the Stanford Club of Hong Kong and will be open for registrations later.
Lily founded Scandobean Productions in 2010 and won her first Tony Award for Best New Musical as a Co-Producer on Hadestown. Coming up in the Fall of 2019, Lily is excited to participate in the production of Sisters In Law, an adaptation of the NYTimes best-selling book about the friendship between Sandra Day O’Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Lily graduated from Yale College and Yale Law School and currently serves as Member of the Board of Advisors to the Yale School of Drama.

Save the Date: AGM/Thanksgiving Dinner/YCHK Chamber Music Society Performance

Please save the evening of November 28th for our annual Thanksgiving Dinner. We will be having our AGM meeting on this date and will provide a report from the latest YAA General Assembly. We will also have a performance by our own Yale Club of Hong Kong Chamber Music Society, followed by a talk by a distinguished speaker.
